Nostalgic Istanbul

Product Description: Artist Grade C-Print on glossy paper.

Image size: 40 x 26 cm (15.75 x 10.25in.).

Process: Erin captured six photographs of the Istanbul ferry, which she then printed onto instant photographs. She meticulously removed the emulsion from each instant photograph and transferred it to a piece of paper, ensuring precise alignment to form a seamless image. The resulting artwork was scanned and digitally enhanced before being printed for you.

Process: Erin created a series of images while exploring Istanbul. Utilizing mobile photographic editing apps, she edited and merged the photographs of an iconic coffee roastery and an old han (a centuries-old building for housing workshops) to craft the final image. While the resulting artwork primarily resides in the digital realm, a limited number of physical prints are available.

Product Description: Artist Grade C-Print on satin paper.

Image size: 40 x 26 cm (15.75 x 10.25in.).

Process: This artwork went through several steps. Erin began with a series of six instant photographs. She then transferred the emulsion from each photograph onto a monotype printed from a gelatin plate. After scanning this piece, Erin layered a photograph she took of the Golden Horn in Istanbul on top.

In the resulting print, each stage of the process is visible, including the many layers of paint transferred from the gelatin plate, the small tears and wrinkles in the emulsion transfer, and the clarity of the digital photograph.

Process: Erin took the original photograph using a digital camera. This image was digitally processed to generate a negative optimized for cyanotype printing. The transparent negative was then printed onto specially prepared cyanotype paper, subsequently scanned, digitally enhanced, and finally printed.
